EVENTS DIARY
Please make a note of these events in your
diary.
I'm giving you the heads up on our summer rally in Oxfordshire. Yes I know I said never again but this years 1000-acre site is such a superb layout that it should be workable in any weather! It's only ten miles from Oxford an five miles N. of Wantage.
Anyway, would you like a premium spot in the main marquee? It's a 100 x 30 ft marquee in a timber fenced grass paddock so nearly big enough for your pitch! We also have use of an old 120ft stone and timber barn that's been converted into a country barn dance venue with purpose built stage, electrics, lighting and heating plus an indoor bar. Saturday night is hog roast night plus rock duo 'Charma' doing 70's and later stuff. It's all under cover, carpeted throughout & has a covered patio area by the manor house by the pool plus indoor toilets & basins too.
We have a new caterer and beer vendor, plenty of outdoor toilets in the camp site, free detecting area and all fields are easily accessible on foot. St. John's ambulance will be there as usual. The camp site is just 200 yds away from the barn on permanent pasture. The drive in to the marquee from the main road is on 1.5 miles of new tarmaced farm track and is probably the most ideal, totally mud free approach you can get for a rally. In my view this is the best ever layout you could hope for at any rally and certainly the best we have seen, ideal for a large rally like ours.
If you are able to attend or not then please get in touch either way.

This events diary is to
inform fellow hobbists what is on, one persons idea of a good day
out is not the same as anothers and FID will advertise all metal
detecting events that we are notified of, this is a free service
and does not indicate how well or indeed badly organised any
individual event may be on the day! Colin Hanson and other
members of the FID committee will try to attend as many rallies
and events as where they hope to meet old and new
friends by the FID flag.
